Overview & Objectives

The Cold Stress for All Industries online safety course from Exceed Safety is an intermediate-level training designed to teach participants to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards associated with cold stress. Additionally, participants will learn the definition of cold stress and how one can prevent associated illnesses and injuries on the jobsite.

Participants of this online training are eligible to learn 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), as well as one Contact Hour for this IACET-approved course.

Exceed Safety’s Cold Stress for All Industries training is designed to offer participants a broad overview of cold stress awareness, symptoms, illnesses, preventative measures, and more. This course adheres to and provides an overview of OSHA’s safety regulations and guidelines to better prepare participants to recognize and prevent cold stress events. Specific course topics include the following:

  • Hypothermia
  • Frostbite
  • Frostnip and chilblains
  • Trench foot
  • Cold stress prevention

Features & Benefits

Exceed Safety’s Cold Stress for All Industries provides essential training for identifying and controlling cold stress hazards in the workplace. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will:

  • Know how to recognize the causes, signs, and symptoms of hypothermia, frostbite, frostnip, chilblains, trench foot, and more.
  • Understand and identify cold stress prevention measures, strategies, and techniques.
  • Identify what to do when cold stress occurs.
  • Be well-versed in OSHA cold stress protocols, as well as additional safety guidelines.

All course participants must complete the full course to receive 0.1 CEU credits. Participants must achieve a score of 80% at each knowledge checkpoint and fill out the course evaluation to receive his or her certificate of completion. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a course completion certificate showing the CEUs earned that may be printed at any time.

In Person Training

Our in-person training is taught by our most skilled and experienced instructors. Participants can expect to be engaged with the material being taught. We strive to make our in-person classes dynamic by incorporating meaningful activities that allow peer-to-peer discussion and collaboration, hands-on learning, and real-life examples. Because our instructors are so experienced, they can answer most questions quickly and in-depth. Some of our classes are available via Zoom (just call us for more information) and can be combined with virtual-blended learning.
