Whether you’re on or off the job site – whenever you’re operating a motor vehicle, safety is paramount. That’s why it’s important to keep your road safety knowledge fresh and learn the proper ways to handle various situations with defensive driving technique training. Our online Defensive Driving Techniques for All Industries course takes only an hour to complete and can go a long way in keeping you, your coworkers, and fellow drivers safe.

In this intermediate-level course, you’ll cover a variety of pertinent driver safety issues and methods to reduce the likelihood of an accident. Topics include:
- A review of critical driver safety issues, such as aggressive driving, intersection accidents, and backing safety
- Definition of “The Good Driver” and “Cushion of Safety”
- The precautions to take before operating a motor vehicle, including seat belts and airbags
- Tips on how to control the hazards that cause most accidents
- Techniques for driving in the winter, with a trailer, and other situations
- The dangers of fatigue, drugs, and alcohol and their effects on the body’s ability to drive safely
- How to avoid the distractions presented by cell phones, hands-free phones, and more
Relevant regulations and standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS)
At the end of the course, you’ll have a clear understanding of what it takes to drive safely in a variety of situations – both on and off the job site. We also encourage you to further your learning by reviewing references like the State Driver’s Handbook and AAA.
