Overview & Objectives
The Safety Signage Awareness for Manufacturing course from Exceed Safety is designed to provide an introductory-level knowledge base to promote a safe and healthy industrial facility and/or workplace. Throughout this course, participants can expect to learn about danger, caution, and safety instruction signs, as well as accident prevention tags.
Exceed Safety’s Safety Signage Awareness for Manufacturing training offers Manufacturing employees a firm foundational knowledge regarding danger, caution, and safety instruction signs in the workplace. Specific course topics include the following:
- The definitions of “sign” and “accident prevention tags” in the workplace
- Three sign classifications with examples of each
- Sign design features and wording
- Use of biological hazard signs
- The differences between major message tags, pictograph tags, and signal word tags
- Use of accident prevention tags
- General criteria for accident prevention tags including recommended color coding
- Five types of tags with examples of each
- Links to additional resources for information and assistance
- Knowledge checks to measure your understanding

Exceed Safety’s Safety Signage Awareness for Manufacturing course is an introductory-level training designed to be taken at the participant’s own pace in about a half hour. Offering helpful strategies and tools to protect oneself and others in the workplace, this course promotes safety and accident prevention by educating employees on the types of hazard signage to recognize in the workplace. Upon successful completion of this course, participants can expect to:
- Define “signs” and “accident prevention tags” in the workplace
- Understand the difference between three classifications of signs: danger, caution, and safety instruction
- Explain required design features for all signs, including each classification
- Describe the recommended wording for signs
- Know when to use biological hazard signs
- Summarize the use, criteria, types, and recommended color codes for accident prevention tags
- Find additional sources of information and assistance
In Person Training
Participants in this in-person class can expect to be engaged with discussions, collaboration from other members of the course, team building experiences, and interactive learning. All our instructors have years of experience in the field and are highly qualified and skilled. We offer some classes via Zoom (just give us a call for more information). Some classes can be combined with virtual-blended learning, as well.
