Overview & Objectives
The Electrical Hazard Recognition & Control for Construction online safety course from Exceed Safety is intended to teach all participants to recognize and control potential and existing electrical hazards found within the construction industry. This intermediate-level safety course instructs individuals on the procedures involving maintaining a safe work environment for oneself, as well as others. Additionally, participants will learn to identify and assess the risks associated with power tools and electrical circuits onsite.
The Electrical Hazard Recognition & Control for Construction course enhances participants’ knowledge of safety-related work practices on the construction worksite to remedy and prevent electrical hazards. All participants are encouraged to further research and learn about electrical safety by reading the reference guide within Electrical Construction, Title 29 CFR 1926.400-499. Specific course topics include the following:
- Overview of electrical hazard recognition
- Overview of electrical hazard control methods
- Jobsite hazards and controls (parts 1 & 2)
- Tool safety tips
- Indicators that electrical hazards might exist
- Safety-related best work practices
- Summary of hazards and protections
