This online safety course is based on the New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 course requirements for 2 Hours of Drugs and Alcohol Awareness training for individuals applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. Eligible participants include:

  • Construction and demolition workers
  • Superintendents
  • Site safety coordinators and managers
  • Competent persons
  • Journey persons
  • Forepersons

Features & Benefits

After taking this course, participants will be prepared to recognize signs of substance abuse in the workplace, understand the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, and implement recognition, avoidance and prevention strategies to address substance use disorders on the job. Additionally, each course participant will receive:

  • 2 hours of training from a NYC DOB-approved vendor that applies toward LL196 course requirements for use toward an approved SST card, including voice-authenticated proctoring
  • 2 Continuing Education Unit from an accredited IACET provider
  • A certificate of completion

To successfully complete NYC SST-302 2-Hour Drugs and Alcohol Awareness for Construction, you must complete each knowledge checkpoint with a minimum score of 70%, complete all course materials, and fill out the evaluation form provided at the end of the course.
