Overview & Objectives
The Trenching & Excavation Awareness for Construction online safety course from Exceed Safety is designed to teach participants the basics of trench safety guidelines, as well as those set-in place by OSHA Trench Safety regulators. In this introductory-level course, participants can expect to learn the basic protective measures that ensure safety on the jobsite while trenching and excavating.
Exceed Safety’s Trenching & Excavation Awareness for Construction online course teaches participants the importance of taking essential preventative measures while working in trenching and/or excavation environments. From common job hazards to safety regulations and beyond, participants will learn the essential knowledge required to safely enter, work in, and exist a trench site. Specific course topics include the following:
- Introduction to trenching and excavation
- Common causes of cave-ins
- General safety regarding trenching and excavation
Specific industry terms discussed throughout the duration of the course include the following:
- Competent person (CP)
- Spoils Piles
- Shoring and sloping

In Person Training
Participants in this in-person class can expect to be engaged with discussions, collaboration from other members of the course, team building experiences, and interactive learning. All our instructors have years of experience in the field and are highly qualified and skilled. We offer some classes via Zoom (just give us a call for more information). Some classes can be combined with virtual-blended learning, as well.
