Namir George is a freelance health and safety consultant based in the United Kingdom. He has over 42 years’ experience in safety and loss prevention, has worked for leading international manufacturing organizations, and has worked at various positions for GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft Food International, Honeywell, and Dailycer. In addition, he worked for several EHS consultancies, providing consultancy, training services, and undertook several projects for various organizations such as Shell, Total Oil Marine, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADCO, Gasco, Takreer, PetroRabigh, Dallah Human Skills, Qatar Petroleum, KPC, Masterfoods, EON, VDO, Florette, National Safety Council (USA) etc. Namir has vast experience in process safety; developed various OSH training and delivered numerous training courses, including IOSH training programs and NEBOSH general certificate and diploma programs; fully implemented EHS management systems ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001.
Namir is a European Registered Engineer and chartered Chemical Engineer with a postgraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety; he is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)- UK, a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and an affiliate member of Institution of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). In addition, he is a member of the Birmingham Health, Safety and Environmental Association (BHSEA). During his time with the NSC, he has offered OSH consultancy services and delivered several health, safety and environment courses, including OSHA and NSC Defensive Driving Courses (DDC) in Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, the Philippines, and India. In 2011, he was awarded the DDC Instructor of the Year award for International.
