Overview & Objectives

The MSHA 4-Hour New Miner Site Entry Training online course is designed to provide the fundamentals of staying safe and healthy around common mine hazards, as well as provide important that all new miners should know. Such topics include miner’s rights and responsibilities, as well as the roles and responsibilities of supervisors and miner’s representatives.

This online safety course adheres to regulations which require mine operators and/or independent contractors provide no less than four hours of training for new miners before they enter a mine site.

Upon successful completion of this course, each participant will receive 0.4 Continuing Education Units (CEOs) and four Contact Hours received for this IACET-approved course.

NOTICE: The MSHA 4-Hour New Miner Site Entry Training course is only applicable to the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Title 30, Part 46 regulations for non-coal surface mining. This training does not fulfill Part 48 training requirements. Please contact the mine you are planning to enter to ensure whether you must complete Part 46 or Part 48 training.
