Overview & Objectives

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) voluntary Outreach Training Program offers important training for construction workers, supervisors, and other personnel who should be aware of general workplace safety. Our hassle-free, online OSHA 10-Hour Construction course covers workplace hazards, employee rights, improving safety culture, and other key topics to prepare participants for the job site. Upon completion, all course participants will receive a certificate of completion right away and earn their Department of Labor (DOL)/OSHA 10-Hour Card shipped within two weeks, allowing them to seek or maintain employment in construction.

NOTICE: If you are in the state of NY and are looking to meet the requirements for your SST certification, you will need to register for the OSHA 10 Voice Authentication version to complete your training.

This online OSHA 10-Hour Construction course addresses how to recognize, avoid, abate, and prevent safety and health hazards in the workplace. Course topics include:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • Workers’ rights
  • Employer responsibilities
  • How to file a complaint
  • OSHA inspections
  • Focus Four Hazards (fall hazards, electrocution hazards, caught-in or –between hazards, struck-by hazards)
  • How to identify, select, and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Major construction site health hazards, including acute and chronic hazards
  • Material handling hazards
  • Hand and power tools
  • Identifying positive and negative safety cultures
  • Leading cultural change on the job
  • The roles of the workforce and management in safety culture

Employers are responsible for providing additional training on specific job hazards as noted in many OSHA standards.

Who is this Course for?

Our OSHA 10-Hour Construction course was designed for construction workers and other employees who need their OSHA 10-Hour Card to seek or maintain employment. Those who should take this course include:

  • Construction workers
  • Foremen
  • Job supervisors
  • Construction site inspectors
  • All personnel responsible for construction-related projects
  • Workers on publicly funded projects in the following states:
    • Connecticut (Note: These professionals must recertify every five years.)
    • Massachusetts
    • Missouri
    • Nevada
    • New Hampshire
    • New York
    • Rhode Island

This course is not intended for workers in general industry or road construction. Construction personnel subject to New York City Department of Buildings regulations should not take this course. Due to more strident California state-level safety regulations, California-based construction professionals should not take this course.

Features & Benefits

Course participants will gain a clear understanding of safety hazards in the workplace, OSHA construction industry standards, and more. Upon completion of this course, you will receive:

  • A certificate that confirms you’ve passed with a score of at least 70%
  • One (1) Continuing Education Unit from an accredited IACET provider
  • A valid DOL/OSHA 10-Hour Card

All course participants have three opportunities to pass the online test and receive immediate feedback after incorrect responses. Participants should be aware that safety standards imposed by their company may be more stringent than those established by OSHA.

Please note that all training must be completed within six months of the course start date. Successful completion requires users to spend at least 10.25 hours in the online course and supplemental material. You will also be required to complete a course evaluation at the end of the course to receive a certificate of completion.

This certificate-level course provides a proven method for securing your DOL/OSHA 10-Hour Card. We’ll record your score and submit reports of all successful course completions to the DOL and OSHA. After receiving and signing your card, we’ll mail it directly to you. In most cases, students receive cards within two weeks after course completion.
