Title: Senior Subject Matter Expert
Dave Rouse retired from BE&K Building Group after 25 years as Regional HSE Manager. Fifteen years prior to that he was HSE for site work contractors and High Purity Mechanical contractors in Virginia.
He worked with NC DOL to bring BE&K into the Building Star program and maintain that status since 2013. He has also mentored other companies to help them achieve Building Star status.
Dave has working knowledge in every phase of construction from overseeing individual projects, superintendents, HSE personnel and craft workers and designing and conducting project specific safety orientations for personnel coming onto the projects (from owners, architects, engineers and craft workers).
Dave’s biggest strength is working through people, getting them to understand why safety rules are in place and helping get them to buy into the culture of safety.
Qualifications include OSHA #500, #501 and #502. Trainer course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry. Certified in Trenching and Shoring – National Safety Council. Certified incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis by the Systems Improvement Group and Kellogg, Brown and Root. Competent Person for Mobile Equipment, Confined Space, Fall Protection, HASCOM, Rigging, Electrical Safety, LOTO and others.
