Russell is a passionate safety professional who has 24 years of experience in public and occupational safety. Russell earned a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety with an Environmental focus from Columbia Southern University. Russell worked as an Oklahoma certified law enforcement officer and paramedic for the first half of his career. This experience provided a wide berth of experiences in emergency response, injury management, legal interpretation, and regulatory compliance. 

Russell has spent the last 12 years of his career providing safety guidance for oil and gas, heavy industry, heavy manufacturing, and DOT related industries. Russell is adept in hazard identification and mitigation, and in finding unique solutions to hazards on the job site. A subject matter expert in all things oil and gas, Russell looks for opportunities to improve safety through engineered solutions and advocates for safety to be designed into new projects. 

Russell was selected for the 2014 safety leadership award at DCP Midstream for his leadership role at the company and for his exceptional ability to engage students by providing world class training. Education and relationship building are two keys that Russell utilizes in bringing world class safety to the job site. Russell is a passionate educator who truly believes education can save lives and reduce injuries.
